Single? Pray for your future husband: He needs you right now...

Single? Pray for your future husband: He needs you right now...

In 2003, I had two amazing sisters-in Christ who inspired me to start a prayer journal for my husband by faith. Let me be clear, I AM STILL SINGLE,PEOPLE!!!, but yet they encouraged me to "WRITE BY FAITH." Let me be perfectly honest with you, at first I thought it was the most stupidest idea I had ever heard in my life. So, let me get this straight, I am suppose to write to a man I don't know, a man I have no clue would be my husband. A man that doesn't insist in my life at this moment. A man only God knows and is creating just for me, huh, ok, yea right... If you say so...

"Proverbs 31:12  states that a wife of noble character is to bring her husband “good not harm all the days of her life.” This verse does not only apply to women who have already met their spouses, but to single women as well. We should be living our life in a way that ultimately glorifies the Lord, and also in a way that would be faithful to a future husband. One way to live this out is by praying for your future husband even before you meet him."(Our Single Purpose, by Robin Gunn and Tricia Goyer)

Well, needless to say, those amazing sisters convinced me(they know who the are), so June 6, 2003, is when I started a prayer journal for my future husband. Although, it was called a prayer journal, it was more than prayers. I also shared my heart with him, especially during those rough times of waiting for him. I shared my temptations and when other men would approach me and even when I thought at times it was him but come to find out it wasn't. I have been writing journals to God since I gave my heart to Christ since 1999, so how hard can this be...Well, writing to a man who I didn't know wasn't as easy as it may seem. This was totally different, I knew my Father God in Heaven, but I didn't know this man on earth.

Whenever I would pray for my future husband I would feel a sense of closeness in the spirit. It would be so strong that at times I felt I was going to be meeting him soon, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I felt it was giving me a false sense of hope, but in reality my faith was being tested. At times, I wanted to give up and stop writing all together. I would actually take a break from writing and through my journal to the side, but when I felt convicted or lead to pray I would reluctantly pick it up again and start praying. I would even apologize to him for not writing during those time he would see a long break between dates of me not writing and share the reasons why, and one being the frustrations that come with writing him by faith.

I had to constantly remind myself to continue to WRITE BY FAITH...because this wasn't just for him but was for me as well. Praying for him now, was actually preparing my heart and marriage for him later. There would be times when I would pray for him and I knew he heard it or felt it in the spirit. God would give me the exact words to write and when to write it. God knew what my husband needed and what he was going through at those times, so God would use me to cover him in prayer...Well, to make a long story short... I finally met my husband in 2008, and we married in 2009. Yep, you do the math, 2003-2009...Now, don't get it confused with the amount of time I was waiting. I had being waiting for him since 1999, but didn't start praying for my husband until 2003.

I gave him the journal as a wedding gift, so I presented it to him on our honeymoon. He was seating in the cabin on a cruise ship to the Virgin Islands. As he started reading I noticed tears rolling down his face. He was so moved, emotional and in disbelief that he was speechless. One thing I can say about my husband, he is a numbers man, and can remember dates like nobodies busy. Well, after he finished reading the journal, he shared with me that during those hard times he was going through, it was my prayers that he felt. He said my prayers are what helped him go through his struggles. Those prayers gave him strength when he was weak. Those prayers brought him peace in the mist of chaos....Those prayers brought him deliverance and restoration. He would look at the date of my journal entries and remember the exact events that were taken place in his life during that time and knew without a doubt, it was those prayers. Side Note: This is why I started every entry with the date and time I started writing.

God loved him so much that He had his future wife start praying for him. And God loves you so much that He is using you to cover him to prepare you for your future marriage. So, I encourage you woman of God, if you are believing God for a husband, then start praying for him right now. Believe it or not, he needs you right now. Not, only will it benefit him, but it will benefit your future marriage as well. Just imagine God healing, delivering, and setting free issues before it reaches your marriage. Imagine not having to worry too much about bringing past issues into your marriage, God can take care of issues right now before you two even meet. I am not telling you to go out and start a prayer journal, this is what worked for me, but I am asking you to at least start praying for your future husband now. I just love journals because it increases my faith, especially when I can read back on some of my prayers and see where they have been answered. If journaling is your thing, please start your future husband prayer journal today. He needs your prayers right now. He wants to know about the silly things you are doing, the struggles you are going through, the frustrations and everything else about you, now. Share that with him, Don't wait. No, it is not easy to WRITE BY FAITH but it is so worth it. Start investing in your marriage now you can't afford not too.

Seeing my husband's tears rolling down his face while reading his journal, was priceless and I am so thankful for my two sisters-in-Christ, who allowed God to use them to encourage me to start writing by faith. So, I come to encourage you to do the same, WRITE BY FAITH, or PRAY BY FAITH, today.

I hope I have encouraged and inspired you to start praying for your husband in advance. Don't wait, start now.
Let me know if this is something you will or even think about doing for your future husband. If you are also interested in HOW and WHAT I prayed and the things I SHARED in his journal... I can share that with you as well.

Who are you?
You are the wife God has created you to be NOW, so act like it, bride to be... Pray for your husband. The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous, availeth much...James 5:16
He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord...Be that good thing now and start praying for him, so therefore, he can start obtaining favor from the Lord, right now...Prov.18:22

In the Lion's Den ( It will Backfire, just Watch and Pray)

In the Lion's Den (Sign, Seal and Deliver)...

Today, during my lunch break, I starting reading the Book of Daniel. I have read the Book of Daniel on more than one occasion, but for some reason, today it actually came to life in my mind and my spirit. Can you say, Illumination,,,Illumination. I read chapters 1-6 and each chapter has it's own unique story and a life lesson that we can glean from, however, right now, I am going to focus on Chapter 6, Daniel in the Lion's Den. I don't know how many times I have read and/or heard about this story, but today the Holy Spirit used Daniel's story to remind me how powerful we as Christians are.

We all know the story, because Daniel proved himself more capable and more responsible then the other administrators and  high officers, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire.  And just like haters, jealousy kicks in, and the scheming begins. They tried their hardest to find fault with Daniel, but of course they couldn't, why? Because Daniel was a faithful man. He was responsible, he was a man of integrity and was completely trustworthy. So they concluded, the only chance of accusing him of anything would be in connection with the rules of Daniel's relationship with God. The first mistake the enemy made was thinking he was messing with Daniel's religion, what he didn't know was, Daniel had a real relationship with God, not religion. It's easy to jeopardize  religion, but ones relationship with God is a whole different ball game. You can destroy religion all day long but please don't try to hinder our relationship with God, and even if you try, Enter at your own risk.

So, the enemy is so furious that he is now influencing those in power and governmental offices to make a law, giving orders that for the next 30 days anyone caught praying, except to the king, will be thrown into the den of lions. This law would go completely against what we as Christians believe.  Even after the laws were created and enforced, Daniel, didn't change a thing. He continued to pray to the God of heaven, then and only then, they "found" something on him, they accused him of breaking the law. You know the rest, he was thrown into the den of lions and God shut the mouths of the lions. But, what the enemy meant for bad, God meant it for good. The plan backfired and all those who were against Daniel, were thrown in the same den of lions, along with their wives and children, and all of them were destroyed.

That brings me to my next point and what the Holy Spirit reminded me of today. To my brothers and sisters in Christ, this is not deep at all, this is just a reminder of something you already know, I am just going to do my due diligence and remind you again so you can be encouraged, I know I was. I was reminded of something so simple but yet profound. WE ARE CHILDREN OF THE MOST HIGH GOD. We are powerful in Christ Jesus and no matter how many laws are created, signed and enforced, WE still win. At the end of it all, God signs, seals, and delivers. God reigns and the enemy is defeated. God isn't moved by new laws, matter of fact He is not even surprised. Guess what, he prophesied it was going to happen anyway. It's not a mystery.

Just like our brother Daniel, we must continue to do our part, no matter what laws are being created against us. We must continue praying without ceasing. We must remain faithful, trustworthy, responsible and diligently walking in integrity and love. We must not be moved by what is happening or what is coming, because it will all backfire. God will fight our battles, He will destroy the enemy and his followers, He will take care of the laws of the land.

Remember whenever the enemy can't find fault with you, and all he sees is the favor of God on your life, he will create something to entrap you, and even then God will protect you and in turn destroy your accusers. So keep the faith, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding...Believe he will protect and deliver you from the hands of the enemy, because HE will.

Thank You LORD, for your Word of Encouragement for your children, for such a time as this.

P.S. During these trying times, God is still GOD and we are His Children, and that my friend will never change...

In Jesus Name Amen,
